Clinical Psychology Postdoctoral Fellow Position

Northstar Center is a rapidly growing out-of-network private practice in Loudoun County, Virginia. Northstar is dedicated to delivering high-quality, evidence-based, trauma-informed behavioral health services to children, adolescents, and adults who experience the spectrum of anxiety, mood, depression, and trauma-related disorders, including dissociative conditions.
Northstar Center offers the following services:
Individual Therapy - Tailored, evidence-based therapy for adolescents and adults
Skills Plus Program - A trauma and DBT-informed supportive outpatient program that includes weekly individual therapy, one-on-one skills training, and optional phone coaching.
Testing - Comprehensive neuropsychological and psychological assessments for children and adults
ABOUT THE POSITION:
Position Type: Part-Time transitioning to Full-Time
Northstar Center is seeking a dedicated and passionate Postdoctoral Fellow with experience or a strong interest in working with children, adolescents, and adults affected by trauma-related conditions, including PTSD, complex PTSD, and trauma-related dissociative disorders.
Primary Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive assessments
Provide individual therapy, with opportunities to facilitate group therapy
Deliver services within the Skills Plus Program (focused on trauma recovery and skill-building)
Maintain a clinical caseload (22-24 clients per week at full-time capacity)
Work with clients presenting with diverse concerns, including:
Mood disorders & anxiety disorders
ADHD
OCD
Phobias
Personality disorders
Participate in weekly supervision
Attend clinical group consultation meetings and didactic trainings
Ideal candidates must have:
Graduated from an APA-accredited clinical psychology doctoral program and completion of doctoral internship
Demonstrated experience or interest in learning trauma-focused evidence-based practices
Experience in treating high-acuity populations
Experience working with diverse populations with a commitment to anti-racism and affirming of neurodivergent and LBGTQIA+-populations
Experience or interest in learning DBT
Experience in child and adult assessment
Excellent communication skills, receptivity to feedback and dedication to learning
Interest in being part of a collaborative and supportive trauma-informed clinical team
Availability to provide in-person services on-site
