Group therapy offers a supportive space to explore personal challenges alongside others who share similar experiences. It can be a meaningful complement to individual therapy, or a supportive starting point if you are not ready for one-on-one work.
At Northstar Center, our therapy groups in Ashburn, VA are led by trauma-informed therapists and focus on specific themes, skill building or life experiences. Groups are facilitated by an experienced provider who fosters a space of emotional safety.
Our current group offerings are intentionally small and focused, allowing for thoughtful conversation and a sense of safety within the group. New groups may be added over time based on community needs.
Women Without Motherly Support (WWOMS) is a therapist-led group for women who grew up without consistent, nurturing maternal care, often in the context of narcissistic, emotionally unavailable, or abusive mother-child dynamics. The group offers a supportive space to explore how early relational experiences continue to shape beliefs about self-worth, boundaries, relationships, work, and personal goals.
